The archive of secret records of citizens’ private life will be destroyed by August 15. Lasha Tughushi, a member of the special commission created regarding the archive of secret records told journalists after the commission meeting.
According to Tughushi, an agreement has been reached with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Chief Prosecutor that most sensitive, difficult and compromising documents will be destroyed within the next two weeks.
“We have already achieved agreement with the Minister and the Chief Prosecutor that these materials, including secret records of citizens’ private life will be destroyed by August 15. In addition, Tamar Kaldani will be engaged in the process. She will present analysis of the materials. The most sensitive, difficult and dirty recordings will be destroyed by August 15, Lasha Tughushi said.
“There is a great archive of illegal records in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The commission should devise rules about the treatment of these materials.” Tughushi explained. The number of the records depicting citizens’ private life has recently increased and reached 99.
Personal data inspector Tamar Kaldani has attended the commission’s meeting for the first time today.
Tughushi says that a decree will be prepared regarding the records depicting citizens’ private, which will be discussed and adopted at the governmental meeting.
